Mimma Craft hat die Verwandlung zum Vampir seit einem halben Jahr hinter sich und lebt nun das Leben einer Neugeborenen, mit all seinen Vorzügen, aber auch seinen Schattenseiten.
Ihr Macher, Ardric Donovan, weiht sie in die Geheimnisse der Vampire ein.
Doch mit Mimma hat er es nicht immer einfach, denn sobald er die Zügel etwas locker lässt, tanzt sie ihm auf der Nase herum. Zudem fällt es ihr überaus schwer ihre Vampirgelüste, bestehend aus ständigem Hunger und ungebändigter Lust, zu unterdrücken.
Obwohl Ardric nach wie vor eine Beziehung mit Mimma möchte, gibt diese sich als unnahbar und will es sich einfach selbst nicht eingestehen, dass sie ihn ganz für sich alleine möchte.
Doch da Ardric kein Vampir von Traurigkeit ist, vertreibt er sich, zu Mimmas Leidwesen, seine Zeit mit zahllosen Affären, wodurch er ihre Eifersucht umso mehr entfacht.
Zur selben Zeit findet eine mysteriöse und seit Jahrhunderten verschollene Schriftrolle, den Weg zu den Ältesten, die in den falschen Händen großes Unheil herbei rufen kann.
Glücklicherweise konnten Luna und Onyx, zwei berühmt berüchtigte Vampire, mit außergewöhnlichen Gaben, besagte Schriftrolle aus den Pranken von Werwölfen entreißen.
Vorerst scheint die Gefahr gebannt, doch das Unheil wurde bereits heraufbeschworen und fordert so einige schmerzvolle Tribute, von alten Freunden und neuen Gefährten.
