About the Author
Sue Morris is a Clinical Psychologist trained in CBT. She currently works as a Bereavement Coordinator at a large hospice in Boston, USA where she has developed and facilitated a six-week support programme for the recently bereaved. She has co-authored four self-help books about relationships and motherhood.

Overcoming Grief

Everybody has their own journey to make when trying to deal with grief. I found it helpful to see what books were available on the market to find out if what I was experiencing was a 'normal' response to losing a parent. If you have been bereaved, you will recognize yourself in this book and that was a great comfort for me. I learned that my lack of motivation, deep sadness and myriad other feelings were common experiences for those that have lost someone close to them. Sue's book is comprehensive and practical. She articulated in her writing what was a fog in my head and it helped to try and put a structure around those feelings, and stop putting myself under pressure to cope and especially to cope with other people's expectations of how I should be 'moving on'.. If you are full of sadness and a bit lost and that is what is bringing you to this book, I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Be good to yourself, take it easy and take it slowly.

I am not much on self help books but this one is different

I have never been one for self help books but with the death of my dad, I needed something. A grief counselor recommended that I use this in between sessions with her. This book has been an amazing help and the exercises well worth doing. I would give this to anyone who is going through the grieving process.

The exercises make this book very productive

This book is extremely helpful to me. I am still using it. I think the fact it has exercises in it makes it very productive. For me most of the exercises were productive in moving me forward. The way it is written I find it easy to read and easy to follow where as other books I tried were less easy.
